I've been trying to find construction theme ideas, but haven't found that many. Most construction theme rooms are pre-k. So far I haven't how I am going to decorate my room. Usually by now I have my room planned out, things purchased, and ready to set up my classroom.
I'm starting to get nervous about what I'm going to do, and when we will be able to get into our classrooms. On Thursday I did purchase my first 2 items for my construction theme.
I purchased a blue construction hat. (One of our school colors is blue.) I'm thinking I might add a label to front- R.C. Hill Construction Worker or something like that. On the first day I always take their picture so I thought this would be perfect.
I also purchased the fancy dangling construction cut-outs. I know I still need to buy the yellow caution tape. Other than that I am having trouble finding things that I like. I guess it's time to be creative and make my own things.
And the winner of my 600 Follower Giveaway is . . . .
Liz Langhoff Congratulations! I will be emailing you after this post to talk about which 6 free items you want and your TPT gift certificate.

Learning Is Something to Treasure
Good luck with the construction theme! It can be hard to find things to fit your theme! When you do, I am sure it will be adorable! We have a sports theme in our school and I am just going to carry my theme out in the hallway. I can't imagine changing everything in my room right now!
Stop by sometime! :)
Blessings of Teaching
Several years ago a teacher down the hall had a construction theme. I think she did a tie-in with The Three Little Pigs and the construction of 3 different houses. The first stories they read were different versions of the pigs' story.
I would suggest maybe getting some of those home depot aprons for the chairs. They would not only be decoration but would also be good for folders or books. Look for orange cones to use for center signs (put them on tables or near centers). If you do groups you could name each group after a tool ( creative teaching press has cute diecuts). Hope those ideas help! Good Luck!
Sorry ! Also VISTAPRINT! I know for a fact they have construction themed stuff you could make a class banner, posters, etc.

Hi Sandy! I love the construction theme. That is perfect for your school this upcoming year. I choose a similar theme a couple of years ago (5th grade) and I thought and used this job board:

It was really cute, so I thought I would share it with you just in case. Someone in your school might like to use it. :)
